Greatestest weekend ever!

Yeah, I now I'm one day late, but I needed time to recover. :D The book fair was awesome, I've never seen that many books in one place before and also cosplayers. :XD:
Unfortunately the two days were over too fast but on the other hand I'm not sure if I'd have survived another day. It was great but also exhausting. All those impressions and you seriously can't walk past all those books without starting to read. ^^;
The first day I went as Yuuko like I said, but the second day I wanted something new, so in the night before I hurriedly made a inu costume, basically like neko but a dog ;P
Someone took pics of me and as soon as they are online I'll post one here.
And on Sunday was the German Cosplay Championship and it was absolutely amazing, we even did Caramelldansen, whic was hilarious, and I saw three beautiful Yuukos and one Watanuki. Unfortunatly my camera had given in at some point, so I only got the chance to take a shot of one Yuuko.

Now I'm already planning my Halloween costume. I'm so looking forward to it :D

Oh, I'm so exited! Today is the first day of th Book Fair which is open for public including of course cosplayers. This is far bigger than JapanDay and there will be so many people in great costumes. Thank God, I've got my camera charged and ready :meow: JapanDay was awesome and this is gonna be outstanding. I mean, this event is massive! :wow: It is the the worlds biggest book fair ... There will not only be the anime/manga stuff but also billions of books in general. I love books  Tomorrow they will even be for sale and sometimes you get them a lot chaper there than you would otherwise. Guest of honour is China and I am very curious about it. I don't know much about Chinese literature and traditions.

I will again go as Yuuko since my Watanuki wig is being held by customs and there is no way to foresee when I will get it. Knowing German customs authorities it could be years. :cries: However, this will be a great weekend, I tell you! :D

Japan Day and CosDay 2009

Today I went to the Japan Day in Frankfurt and it was freaking awesome! Not only was it my first ever cosplay meeting but it also gave me the possibility to experience Japanese culture live instead of merely reading about it or seeing stuff on youtube. I listened to various Japanese musicians (especially the taiko drummers were brilliant), I drank Kirin beer and ate takoyaki, which was damn delicious, watched calligraphy and origami, and of course there were a lot of great cosplayers. (o^_^o) It was a beautiful day, even though everything started off horrible.

The costume I actually wanted to wear today (Watanuki, what else?) hadn't arrived yet. So what to do? I stayed awake all night trying to figure out how I could get a new costume without spending to much money and obviously time. At some point I decided to do Ame Warashi since I had a suitable dress and I went out very early to get the wig, but the shop, that should have sold it, wasn't where it was supposed to be, so I walked around about and hour disappointed and drenched. Yes it was pissing down as if Ame Warashi herself tried to tell me what a stupid idea that was in the first place. What now? I was running out of time ... I decided to go to another store I knew of, that sold costumes. I was in a really bad mood by then, I was wet and very cold. Waiting for the bus that should get me to my destination I took out the small wine bottle I had bought for later and drank it. At least that warmed me up a bit and I told myself it also cheered me up, which it didn't. My last hope was Yuuko, I had a Kimono at home and I thought if I could find a wig and some accessories I'd be on the safe side. And yay, I found it! \(^o^)/
Problem was that the time when the cosplayers wanted to meet had already passed, but I thought, I would just go there by myself, no problem. I hurried home and got changed and was rather satisfied. I was already an hour late but now nothing could go wrong anymore. Well, apart from getting on the wrong train ... twice ... (>_<")

I arrived two hours late, but I was there eventually and from that point things got better. I wasn't a perfect Yuuko, but I looked good and got many compliments. I hated the wig (bad cheap wig krrrrrr) but it fulfilled it's purpose. And here I am now, completely exhausted, very fucking happy, writing an awfully long journal entry.

Next weekend I go to the German cosplay championship (only as a visitor XD) and I hope my Watanuki costume will be here by then, but the Yuuko thingy would do as well.

Tired ... bed. Nighty!

Ima seme ... yeah, right?! (O_o)

OMG, I'm making a BJD!!! O_o

Yes, I decided to make a ball-jointed-doll.:D I bought modelling clay yesterday and started on the head. The reason why I got the idea in the first place was that I can't currently afford a BJD.

I'm really happy now, though, because I very much enjoy to work on it and it gives me the possibility to make a doll that looks exactly how I want it. I won't have to make compromises, like I would with a bought one.

The head, I'm working on, is about 5 cm. The small size is good for practice, but my goal is a Watanuki, about 60-70 cm tall. I've never really done anything like sculpting or modellising before (okay, in school, but that's ages ago, my mum still got the damn ugly rabbit :XD:) and I so hope that I discover some hidden talent.

Here you can see how the head looks so far:

Now judge it, but be nice :blushes:
